1/17/2023 0 Comments Use waves x noise![]() I've had this problem in other projects as well, but this is the first time I've bothered to try to track it down. I tried versions back to 1.866, and the problems is in all of them, at the exact same time index. ![]() It's extremely odd, and it doesn't seem to have much relation to how much load the CPU is actually under, since by the 3:20 mark every other item in the multitrack has ended - so the only thing playing is the monitoring of the track I'm recording, and yet the FX use still spikes. ![]() ![]() I use Waves X-Noise a lot, because I don't have any sound-proofing and I have to filter out the PC's cooling fan (yes I know, not perfect, but what can you do =P).Īnyway, while recording this afternoon, everything was plodding along quite nicely, laying down some extra guitar tracks on a song I'm almost done with, and at certain time indexes (in this specific case, it was 3:32) the CPU FX load would climb rapidly for 6 seconds or so, until it hit around 120% use on FX alone, causing my sound to grind and gargle, and then sink back down to normal levels shortly afterwards. Hey all, this morning I became the proud owner of a non-commercial license of Reaper (yippee!), and this afternoon I finally tracked down the problem that was causing massive, intermittent spikes in CPU use while I'm recording.
